"Hey there, my name is Kat Brittain. I have been performing in bands and groups since I was 15 years old, but now I feel like it's my time to write the music.. I grew up in King's Lynn, Norfolk and loved performing in musicals and talent shows. I was even in a high school concert band and fulfilled the ginger girl stereotype and went on multiple band camps.. It wasn't quite as wild as American Pie suggests but it was still pretty good. I joined my first band in high school. A four piece pop and rock covers band called Fire Drive Tiger. (I didn't choose the name!) This was my very first taste at being centre stage and performing in front of a live band.. Needless to say I never looked back. I went to The Academy of Contemporary Music and studied music performance; I learnt a lot and messed up assessments A LOT but I'm better off for doing it. It gave me the confidence to go out into the world and work as a musician. It's hard making money from a band, especially when you get some old guy telling you you're too loud or someone drunk begging for some ACDC music. However, the upside is you get to share something of yourself with the audience, you get to share something you're good at and feel proud that you can do it. It's a great feeling. After moving back to Norfolk I decided that singing other people's music was no longer doing it for me so I started writing. Two years later I have an awesome set of original music and I am about to embark on the world with my first original band. THIS IS EXCITING. I can't wait to show you what I've been cooking up.. keep your eyes and ears peeled, 'cause it's coming."
